the end of weariness

summer is ending down south as winter gets its affairs in order here in  the Rocky Mountains.  a good time to practice.

a monk i admire has quoted Basho writing :

sitting quietly

doing nothing

spring comes and the grass grows by itself

my copy of the complete works of Basho does not include this poem.  perhaps it was never written.
